You have previous experience in a similar environment where you actively demonstrated strengths within an administrative, merchandising and buying role(s). The Role
As the Merchandise Assistant you are an essential part of the Buying and Development Team. In this role you will be responsible for implementing and executing product setup with associated information, including management of purchase orders, images, and updating pricing in a timely and accurate fashion. You have previous e-commerce experience and a strong desire to gain experience to further your career in buying. This role allows for collaboration with departments including Operations, Marketing and Graphic Design.
Responsibilities
  • Responsible to enter and maintain accurate data relating to product and pricing details for reporting and analysis

  • Assist in tracking and coordination of product projects, including sourcing, scheduling and shipping

  • Upload product details in project management software, including related product information, images and associated details in a timely manner

  • Manage the purchase order process from end-to-end, including but not limited to data entry, maintenance, and assist in resolving any potential issues

  • Communicate with external customers relating to customer service questions by responding with appropriate info, timelines or resolution

  • Assist in pulling reporting info relating to sales, orders tracking, etc. for analysis

  • Support the Buying Team by performing administrative tasks as necessary
Qualifications
  • 2+ years related working experience in a similar role

  • Experience with women's and/or children's fashion and asset

  • Background in Fashion Design an asset

  • Post-secondary education in fashion preferred

  • Previous experience working directly with manufacturers an asset

  • A self-starter, strong ability to take initiative

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and work under deadline

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Knowledge and experience with online, retail, merchandising or product development processes

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly in Excel
